Easter - Writing Workshop

Easter Day

I love Easter Day because I like spending time with my family and eating delicious food such as chocolate eggs. I go to church with my mum and my brother. At home, dad cooks and prepares breakfast. On the day before Easter, Holy Saturday, my family and I decorate and dye Easter eggs. We especially like tapping eggs on Easter Day.

Holy Saturday

On Holy Saturday, as soon as we wake up, my family and I go to my grandparents' place. There we decorate eggs for Easter breakfast when we play the egg tapping game. My brother and I are always the winning team. We eat a lot of ham and onions. We have fun and of all our holidays we like Easter the most.

Easter Story

It was half past twelve. I was very tired. I was very thirsty, too. I was getting out of the bed when I heard some strange noise in the kitchen. I was really scared. It could be anyone, a robber or even worse – a ghost! I couldn't know. When I entered the kitchen I saw a lot of colorful eggs scattered all around the kitchen floor. I saw two bunnies sitting on our sofa, playing the egg tapping game. They stopped playing and looked at me. One ran away, and the other stayed. I asked him: ''Who are you?'' He said: ''I am your Easter Bunny, don't you know that?''. I said: ''Of course, tomorrow is Easter. Are there any candies in here?'' Bunny replied: ''Yes, inside these colorful eggs. Can you get me something to drink, please?'' I answered: ''Yes I need a drink, too. Let's have some milk, shall we?'' Bunny thanked me and then I asked him: ''Do you like my decorations?'' Bunny said: ''I love them. They are perfect. But now, I have to go. I've got many more eggs to deliver.'' I said: ''OK, thank you, it was nice talking to you. I hope I'll see you again next year.'' He said ''Bye!'' and disappeared. I turned around to see if he was still there but he HOP-HOP-hopped away.

Easter Holidays

Easter Day is coming! I am very happy because Easter is the day when I get my favourite candies – chocolate eggs which my Easter bunny hid. Yes, of course I coloured Easter eggs the day before and everything is ready for a celebration. Chocolate eggs, mmm...I can't do without them on Easter! Happy Easter everyone!

Easter joys

Easter holidays mean happiness to me. Bunnies, babies and chicks are all around us. They symbolise new life or re-birth. Easter egg hunts are filled with happiness and joy. Of all Easter activities I like egg tapping the most.

My Secret

It is the night before Easter, Holy Saturday, and I wake up to the sound of someone in my house. I peek downstairs and I see a huge rabbit hopping through my house. It is an Easter Bunny! I am surprised and now he sees me and stops. He starts talking. I ask him if this is real or if it is just a dream. He does not answer anything, he just gives me a basket full of chocolate eggs and bunnies. He says it is our little secret. I will never tell this story to anyone and I will never forget this night.

Easter Story

It was the night before Easter and I woke up to the sound of someone in the kitchen. I was scared to go and see what it was. Then I plucked up my courage and I went. There were some chicks and eggs all around the kitchen. I pinched myself to check if I was dreaming or not. I turned the light on but nobody was there except chicks and eggs. I couldn't belive my eyes so I concluded I must be hallucinating and decided to go to bed. The next morning the chicks and eggs were still there and the rest of my family was surprised as much as I was the night before.

Easter Story

It is the night before Easter and I wake up to the sound of someone in my house. I peek downstairs and I see a huge rabbit hopping through my house. It was a noneaster rabbit. His name was Nongood Hopper, the evil twin of Realgood Hopper. He stole Easter eggs from my basket. But then I ran into the kitchen and took the only thing Easter bunnies love – chocolate carrots. He left the eggs and ran, grabbing the carrots and running back to the eggs. The only person, or better said a rabbit, who could stop him was Vanessa Hopper. The nicest and the prettiest rabbit of them all. She was his mum. She pulled Nongood's ear and he had to apologise. He returned the eggs and went home together with his mum. I heard later on from a good friend of mine – an elderly rabbit – that she scolded him all the way home.

Easter in My Room

Bunny is in the room,

I heard a big boom.

Hop-hop everywhere,

sounds like in my kitchen

there's a big bear.

He is happy and smiling all the time

It's the time of year

when holidays arrive.

The Happy Bunny

Night before Easter I was getting ready for bed. I came to the living room searching for my egg basket. I looked in the kitchen and saw something hopping around. It was white and it suddenly appeared in front of me. And yes, it was an Easter bunny. He was cheerfully hopping around me. I wondered if it was real. He smiled at me and told me he was real. Oh! He can talk, I was surprised. I asked him what he was doing in my house and he told me that every year the day before Easter he visited all homes and checked if there were colored eggs in the baskets. He gave me a lot of candies and chocolate eggs and I thanked him. He jumped through the window and added: ''Happy Easter!'' I returned to my bed wondering if he would ever come back. The next morning my mum woke me up. I went to the kitchen to get some candies but I couldn't find any, so I thought all of it was just a dream. But then, suddenly, I saw something behind the kitchen table. It was small and white and fluffy and it jumped out of our kitchen window. It stopped, turned it's head and winked at me and I knew it was going to be a very happy Easter.

My Easter Day

My Mum and I dye eggs the day before Easter. We have different colours, such as green, yellow, purple and other but my favourite is blue. On Easter my dad makes a ham bread for Easter lunch. My sister and I make Easter greeting cards. Then my mum and dad sit at the table. At ten o'clock am my grandfather Zlatko, aunt Maja and Adam come to spend Easter with us. They bring eggs and candies in a big Easter basket. First we eat asparagus, eggs, ham bread and cross buns. For lunch we have roasted lamb and potatoes. After breakfast and lunch we play egg tapping game.

Easter

I peek down the stairs and I see it. All white and fluffy hopping around my house. ''What are you doing down there?'' – I ask. He smiles and says: ''I'm hiding eggs. Tomorrow you'll have to find them.'' He is hopping around the table and laughing his guts out. That is one crazy rabbit – I think to myself. After that he disappears out of the window like a Batman. There is an egg hunt going on this morning. I win because I know where the eggs are. The game is over and my family and I go to my grandparents' place. My granny prepared Easter breakfast. There are many dishes on the table – eggs, onions and ham. Granny says: ''Now,  let's play egg tapping.'' -''Yeah, egg tapping! My favourite Easter game.'' – I say. We take one egg each. My dad starts... Crack! He has just cracked my egg. It doesn't matter, it's easy to peel the shell. And then, my mum... Crack! Granny ...crack! Grandpa...crack! When all the eggs are smashed we can start eating our Easter breakfast. After breakfast we go to church.
